"Boobalean"
liner notes

We could write one of those extended definition essays -- like we make our students do -- to define boobalean, but we're not doing that today.  It's not a person's name, though, if that's what you were thinking.  It's more of a life force really.  At any rate, this is probably the best made-up word song since Phil Collins' "Sussudio."

There's a guy at Leatha's BBQ in Hattiesburg Mississippi (aka the best BBQ in the world) named Applehead who'll sing you any song for a dollar.  We could have also called the second track the "Waterhead Version."  Originally, however, it was called the "Sloppy Seconds Version" because the music was the "sloppy" version Rusty did originally before redoing it and making it sound better (which means it really should have been the "Sloppy Firsts Version").

Maybe our worst chipmunk version?  If so, it's because we didn't hear our chipmunk voices in real time, so didn't get into it as much.

We went to Universal Orlando right before doing the song, and we enjoyed ourselves, in spite of some of our complaining in the song.  We realize our trip to Universal has nothing to do with nothing.  For pictures of the trip, go here.

The original idea of track five was to do a disaffected version, but we ended up doing some 20% Napoleon Dynamite type thing, even though neither of us like that movie.  We like using the voice though.

Rusty got more interested in vocoders around this time, due to hearing lots of songs that used them, so he downloaded one and this was the first did with it.  He likes the vocoder version as much as the single version.  You will too.

Carrie did the album cover and the back cover.  I did the inside.  Here are three alternate ideas I had, some of which may be used for future songs.
